I just recently found out that during some of the classes at AJ Charbonneau Public School, the teachers have been giving children lessons about god, jesus and the bible. I am angry about this, I signed my children up to a public school so that they would not be subjected to religious education. A teacher should not be teaching anything about religion in a public school. Thankfully, my kids are now in Central School in Renfrew, and so far, they seem to have stayed away from religion. I want a secular education for my children, they do not need religious brainwashing. If other parents want or demand religion in school, they should take their kids to a separate school, or to a church. They are also free to teach them religion at home. I have heard from my kids and others who do not appreciate the talks about jesus and the bible. It is extremely unfair to subject children who are not christian, or who have no religion to that one religion, and no one can accommodate every single religion, nor atheism in a school day, let alone the school season, so there should be no religious "belief" taught at at all. Everyone including teachers have a right to their beliefs, but they do not have the right to force them on other peoples' children!I'd appreciate it if teachers kept their religion to themselves. and if they cannot, they can sign up to speak at their church.Thanks,Paula Whyte
